Introduction
Anna has extensive experience working with school and nursery staff to support children with speech, language and communication needs.
Support can be focused on one child’s needs or planned more generally for a class, setting or staff group.
Who This Is For
This page is for schools, nurseries, preschools, SENCOs and staff teams supporting children with communication, learning or interaction needs.
Support may include children with learning difficulties, selective mutism, autism, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Developmental Language Disorder.
How We Help
Anna can provide advice and training for school and nursery staff. Training may be specific to a child’s needs or more general, so that strategies benefit the whole class.
Areas may include:
- Cued Articulation
- Attention Autism training
- Lego Therapy
- Strategies for social communication, turn-taking, following rules, using names and problem-solving
- Support around selective mutism, autism, PDA, ADHD, ADD and Developmental Language Disorder
Collaborative Working
Anna works closely with parents and school staff to support joined-up planning for the child.
Support may include full support connected with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), alongside collaborative work with parents, school staff and other professionals.
In-Service Training And Staff Training
Training sessions for school in-service training days are available. Schools and nurseries can contact Anna directly to discuss requirements, as training can be adapted to the needs of the setting.
